How Mallu makes money

Mallu is free for you to use. If businesses pay in future, you should know exactly what they are paying for, and what they can never buy.

Mockup note: nothing on this prototype is paid for and there is no billing. This page describes how we intend paid plans to work if they launch.

What businesses may pay for

A flat plan priced by the number of areas a business wants to be shown in, never per lead and never by commission. A plan may add a logo and photos, keep other businesses off the business's own page, show a Featured label on results pages in its areas, include it in matched requests for those areas, and send it a monthly report.

Paying can put a business higher in line when we match a request, but only among businesses that already cover the person's postcode. A paid placement is always labelled Featured.

What money can never buy

  • A Verified label or a higher confidence score. These come only from the public sources we check, plus anything an owner adds that we can verify.
  • The removal of public information that lowers a score, or of a correction someone has sent us.
  • The removal of a genuine review, if Mallu ever shows reviews.
  • A page that hides the fact we are a directory and not an adviser.

Read how we verify for what the score means and does not mean.

What Mallu will not do

  • Charge per lead, or take a share of the work a business wins.
  • Lock a business into a long contract.
  • Sell your details. When you use Get matched, your request goes to up to three businesses and no one else.

Free for you

Searching, reading guides and asking to be matched are free, and you do not need an account. Mallu does not recommend any business. A list is not an endorsement.
